Ledger, a cryptocurrency hardware manufacturer, based in France has revealed that the first batch of its Ledger Nano X wallets have left their warehouse and would be distributed to the buyers. The company adds that other pre-orders for the devices will be shipped over the coming weeks.

Blokt previously reported that Ledger assured its customers that the first batch of its Ledger Nano X Genesis Edition would be ready for delivery on May 15. The France-based blockchain startup kept to its word, announcing yesterday that the devices have been shipped to its customers.

In a tweet by Ledger, the company appreciated everyone’s patience, adding that it is excited to distribute the devices to the customers. However, other pre-orders for the Ledger Nano X will be shipped in the coming weeks, the company adds. Regarding the general availability of the device, Ledger expects it to reach store shelves on May 27.

According to the company, the Ledger Nano X is a Bluetooth enabled secure device that stores users’ private keys and ensures that their cryptocurrency assets are kept safe everywhere they go. The device comes with state of the art security in that security keys are stored in a certified secure element, and the Bluetooth connection is encrypted.

It is very easy to back up. Users can restore their accounts on any Ledger device with the help of their 24-word recovery phrase. The Ledger Live mobile app makes it possible for users to manage their cryptocurrency accounts and transactions wherever they are easily.

Another feature of the Nano X is that it supports multiple cryptocurrencies. The device supports an extensive list of cryptos including BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC and more. The company pointed out that the device has up to 100 apps installed and supports over 1,100 crypto assets.

The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is another new feature of the Nano X device. The feature allows users to connect their devices with Android and iOS smartphones without using a cable.

While the Ledger Nano X is designed for wireless use, the company made provisions for those who prefer wired connections. Users have the option of deactivating the Bluetooth connectivity and utilizing the USB type-C connector with their computers.

The Ledger community was excited after the company announced that the Nano X devices had been shipped. Nano X is the latest device in the Nano hardware waller series, with its predecessor being the best-selling Ledger Nano S device. The two have some similar features such as the use of two chips and both support roughly a thousand crypto assets.

The Nano X has a long way to go to match the success recorded by Nano S. The Nano S device has an excellent sales record over the past few years. As of October 2018, Ledger had sold 1.3 million units of the Nano S Wallet. With the prices of cryptocurrencies steadily recovering and the interest in Bitcoin rising again, more people might need crypto wallets, and the Ledger Nano X could record massive sales.
